Apprenticeship as an electronics technician (m/f/x) for operations engineering - Full time

What does an electronics technician do?

As an electronics technician, you’ll assemble electrical and electronic components. Your day-to-day work will involve systems for power generation and distribution. You’ll install electronic components, wire control cabinets and set up drive systems.

What you can expect:

• Installation of electrical components and systems
  You’ll learn how to install electrical systems and equipment in a variety of environments.
• Maintenance and servicing
  Regular inspection and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure trouble-free operation.
• Fault diagnosis and repair
  You will identify and rectify faults in electrical installations.
• Programming and Configuration
  You will learn how to set up and customise control software for industrial systems.
• Installation and supervision
  Organising and supervising the installation of systems, including coordination with other trades.
• Safety inspections
  Carrying out safety checks and functional tests on electrical installations.
• Technical drawing and planning
  You will produce technical documentation and diagrams for electrical systems.
• Customer and user training
  You will provide users with instruction on how to operate the installed systems.

What you should bring to the role:

• Education: Good knowledge of mathematics, physics and technology; a good secondary school leaving certificate or higher
• Technical interest: an interest in machines and how they work; aptitude for operating equipment
• A fascination with the subject of electricity (physics), area and volume calculations

How long does the apprenticeship last?

Usually 3.5 years under the dual system. The duration may be shortened if you have prior knowledge.

Where will I work?

You will spend most of your training in the production department. In the electrical workshop, you will learn about tools and machinery, carry out practical projects and, later on, work independently on your own projects.
