What does an industrial business administrator do?

As an industrial business administrator, you will work in the areas of purchasing, Human Resources, financial accounting, as well as goods reception, stock control and warehouse logistics. You will plan, organise and monitor business processes.

What to expect:

  • Purchasing and warehouse logistics
    You will procure raw materials and operating supplies, carry out stock checks, manage the warehouse and negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
  • Human resources
    Staff planning and recruitment, management of employee data and working hours, payroll.
  • Financial accounting
    Handling and processing of invoices and payments, monitoring of incoming and outgoing payments, preparation of cost accounts and annual financial statements.
  • Head Office
    Organising and coordinating appointments, preparing reports, outgoing invoices and project files, sending out order confirmations.

What you should bring to the role:

  • Education: Good knowledge of maths, English and German; a good secondary school leaving certificate or higher
  • An interest in modern communication technology (Microsoft Excel, Word)

How long does the training programme last?

Usually 3 years under the dual system. The duration may be shortened if you have prior qualifications (vocational A-levels, university of applied sciences entrance qualification, vocational college qualification).
